From first kick to seniors

  1. U9 – U11

    MiniRoos

    Small-sided weekend football in the FV Regional MiniRoos competitions — learning the game by playing it.

  2. Pre Academy

    Game-based development sessions bridging MiniRoos and the Academy — building skills, game sense and a love of the ball.

  3. U13 – U18

    Academy

    Youth Premier League squads (U13–U18) and the Girls Academy (U13–U17) — our elite development pathway, feeding directly into the senior teams.

  4. Open age

    Senior Teams

    Senior Men (State League 1 North-West) and Senior Women (VPL Women) — the destination of the Ballarat City pathway.

How do I register my child to play?

Hit the “Register interest for 2027” button on this page and fill in the short form — the club will be in touch with next steps. If you get stuck, email technical@ballaratcityfc.com and a volunteer will walk you through it.

What age group should my child play in?

Age groups are set by birth year, starting from U7s for both boys and girls. If your child is new to football, MiniRoos or our Pre Academy program is the perfect starting point — no experience needed.

When and where are trainings?

All junior training takes place at the Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility, Morshead Park, 910 Pleasant Street South.

What gear does my child need?

Boots, shin pads and a drink bottle to start. Playing kit and club merchandise are available from our official TradexCo club store — hit the Club Shop link in the menu.

Do you have girls-only teams?

Yes — girls-only teams start at U11 and run all the way through to our Senior Women, with the Girls Academy (U13–U17) providing the pathway into the VPL Women squad.

Can I volunteer or coach?

Please! The club is powered by volunteers — coaches, team managers, canteen helpers, matchday officials. Email info@ballaratcityfc.com and tell us how you’d like to help.
